THE CHAMPIONSHIP

The Euroformula Open series is one of the most important championships for current Formula Three cars. It is, de facto, a revamped European Formula Three Championship even though it's staged as an open series without an official FIA status. The cars are Dallara chassis, powered by engines from Toyota. The overall winner of the series is credited with 15 points towards his FIA Super Licence.

The series has its roots in the Spanish Formula Three Championship and has slowly but surely grown into an international championship in its own right. Since the international single-seater landscape has been re-organised, most of those teams which have thus far been successful in the domestic Formula Three series in England, Germany and France have turned their attention to Euroformula Open, pushing the borders of the championship and boosting its competitiveness. Races are held on prestigious Formula One tracks like Monza, Portimão, Spa, Barcelona, Hockenheim and the Hungaroring.

Since the 2026 season, the car of choice is the current Dallara 324 chassis, paired with a spec TOM'S-developed 1.6-litre turbocharged Toyota engine. This package is designed to align with Super Formula Lights specifications, emphasizing performance, reliability, and cost control, which carries the DNA of Formula Three: a lightweight car with ultra-efficient aerodynamics, state-of-the-art suspensions, a light and powerful engine, and Pirelli tyres. The net result is a car that demands more from the drivers than any other single-seater, making Euroformula Open the best school for F1.

THE TEAM

Team Motopark is one of the leading addresses for young racing drivers in Europe and worldwide. Founded by Timo Rumpfkeil after his own career as a driver up to German F3, the team is strategically based at the Motorsport Arena in Oschersleben for short test distances and modern infrastructure.

Since 1998, Motopark has established itself as a winning outfit across all major junior categories — from Formel König and the Formula Renault Eurocup to the FIA F3 European Championship and the German F3 Championship. With 114 wins and 17 titles in Formula 3, it is one of the most successful teams in the category.

Future Formula 1 and sportscar stars such as Valtteri Bottas, Max Verstappen, Kevin Magnussen, Bruno Senna and Sébastien Buemi completed part of their motorsport education with Motopark. The team has also become a benchmark in demanding series like GP2 and Super Formula, and has tasted success in GT racing including pole positions and wins in the Porsche Supercup.

This year Team Motopark competes in the Euroformula Open and the International GT Open.
